This is done on the basis of our legitimate interests in the secure and reliable provision of our online presence (Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR).

3. Cookies and Consent Management

Our website uses cookies — small text files stored on your device. We use a consent management tool (Complianz) to obtain and manage your cookie preferences before any non-essential cookies are set.

When you visit our website for the first time, a cookie banner will appear allowing you to accept or decline cookies by category. Your preferences are saved and can be changed at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer.

For detailed information about which cookies we use, their purpose, and their retention period, please refer to our Cookie Policy.

The legal basis for processing consent data is Art. 6 (1) lit. c GDPR (legal obligation to document consent) in conjunction with Art. 7 GDPR.

4. Contact via Email

You can contact us via the email address listed on this website. When you do so, the personal data you provide (such as your name and email address) will be stored and used solely for the purpose of handling your enquiry.

The legal basis for processing is Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interest in responding to enquiries) or, where the enquiry relates to a contract, Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR.

When you register for a Cologne Calling event via Danceapp, your personal data (such as your name, email address, dance role, and payment information) is collected and processed by Danceapp in accordance with their own privacy policy. Danceapp acts as an independent data controller for the purposes of operating their platform.

As the event organiser, Cologne Calling GbR has access to your registration data within the Danceapp system for the purpose of managing event attendance, verifying registrations, and processing ticket transfers. We do not store this data independently outside the Danceapp system, and we do not pass it on to third parties.

The legal basis for our access to and use of your registration data is Art. 6 (1) lit. b GDPR (processing necessary for the performance of a contract).

6. Payment Processing

Payments made in connection with event registration are processed via Danceapp and their payment service providers. We do not receive or store any payment details (such as bank account or credit card information) ourselves. Please refer to Danceapp’s privacy policy for details on payment data processing.

Our website contains links to our profiles on Instagram and Facebook. These are standard hyperlinks only — no content from these platforms is embedded on our website.

When you click these links, you leave our website and are directed to the respective platform. From that point, the privacy policies of Instagram (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) and Facebook (Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.) apply. We have no influence over the data processing carried out by these platforms.

8. Your Rights as a Data Subject

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding the processing of your personal data:

Right of access (Art. 15 GDPR): You have the right to obtain confirmation as to whether personal data concerning you is being processed, and if so, to receive a copy of that data along with further information as specified in Art. 15 GDPR.

Right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You have the right to request the correction of inaccurate personal data concerning you and the completion of incomplete data.

Right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You have the right to request the deletion of personal data concerning you without undue delay, provided one of the grounds listed in Art. 17 GDPR applies — for example, if the data is no longer necessary for the purposes for which it was collected.

Right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR): Under certain conditions, you have the right to request that the processing of your data be restricted, for instance while an objection is being verified.

Right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR): In specific cases, you have the right to receive your personal data in a structured, commonly used, and machine-readable format, or to request its transfer to another controller.

Right to object (Art. 21 GDPR): Where data is processed on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. f GDPR (legitimate interests), you have the right to object at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation. We will then no longer process the data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, rights, and freedoms, or unless the processing serves the establishment, exercise, or defence of legal claims.

Right to withdraw consent (Art. 7 (3) GDPR): Where processing is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

Right to lodge a complaint (Art. 77 GDPR): If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates data protection law, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in particular in the EU member state of your habitual residence, place of work, or the place of the alleged infringement.
